Lindsey Wilson writes about senseless violence and the lives that have been changed by it with her ballad, "Tides"
Hello Family. Well, our lives continue to be changed by senseless violence. Again we must endure the death of other innocent men, women, children. Just in case you forgot their names, let me tell you who some of our high profile heroes are: lil' Lloyd Morgan, Sean Bell, James Byrd, Darrius Kennedy, Oscar Grant, Tanesha Anderson, Amadou Diallo, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, Eleanor Bumpers (remember her?), Akai Gurley, Rensiha McBride, Trayvon Martin, and Michael Brown and the latest to be added to this list: Sandra Bland. We are constantly in the midst of senseless murders. This time it's a police officer and a mother of three children. Her name was Miosotis Familia. What will it take, folks? You see, the vicious cycle continues. What will make it stop? Well one thing for sure, this won't stop until people get started. Plain and simple. I think it's time to do some heavy Soul searching in order to come up with a solution that benefits our communities. Almost five years ago I was honored to record a song that's close to my Spirit at Brooklyn's own-The Honablue Institute of Audio Engineering (THI) in Bed-Stuy with pioneer engineer, Robert Honablue. Mr Honablue was the first black studio engineer to work at CBS Records in the 70's. "Tides" (heard on audio clip below) is a song about the senseless killing of black men and women in America. It was inspired by the untimely death of Trayvon Martin and countless other victims of wasteful violence. Please stay tuned for more updates about how I plan to raise consciousness about this issue and raise money for community organizations that are making a difference across the country at the same time. The Human Hearts Trio is only the beginning. Only Love Here...Keep Shining, Linz

LINDSEY WILSON "Urban Folk Artist" IN CONCERT - SISTAH TALK TV SHOW
All performers wish to have a chance to shine one time or another. This media opportunity came literally out of the blue. Producer, Astrologer and all around nice guy, Zakkee Z. Starman and his beautiful Queen/Host Dietra Kelsey found me on Facebook and decided to give me shot. They were truly generous with their time and promotional mentions. Plus, I had a GREAT time. It was a pleasure to be amongst like minded and easy-going Spirits. Major shout out to SISTAH TALK TV! On this clip you'll hear "What are we doing for the Children?", "Superman" and "Piece of Pie"! Thanks for listening! Only Love. Keep Shining...
